![]() ![]() As an educator something I love is that the dogs don’t have an obvious race, they don’t even have an obvious gender which is perfect. The story is simply a little love song about all the ways the dog loves the puppy, simple and touching. This author is a preschool parents dream, short and easy to read melodic books with illustrations to die for. I enjoy books that are reassuring and provide a sense of security for young children at bedtime, and this does that with ease. My favorite part though is that when the toddler asks Papa to stay a little longer while he falls asleep Papa does. I love how he’s patient and kind, and the illustration on the page where they are reading in bed, and his toddler’s hand is awkwardly on his head cracks me up. They go through their bedtime routine, starting by looking for sleepy hiding under toys, in the bath, in his PJs, in the bedtime stories, etc… I love the dad in this book. The book is about a little bear and his papa bear getting ready for bed. I was gifted it, and it probably wouldn’t have jumped off the bookshelf to me if I had been browsing at the book store but I am so glad it ended up in our hands. Looking for Sleepy by Maribeth Boelts is a perfect bedtime book. Bravery, athletic ability, academic excellence … all these things came in time and everyone even their dad got frustrated at times. This book isn’t just a reflection of that phenomena it is also a wonderfully gentle way to let young kids know that all the things that make their dads awesome took time to develop. Maybe it’s just my kids, but they always want to know ” What was daddy like at my age?” and pester my in-laws for details. Your Daddy Was Just Like You by Kelly Bennett is a sweet story about what a little boy’s daddy was like when he was a boy, as told by his grandmother. If your child isn’t familiar with families that include step parents this is a good book to explain them. This book is about bonds between a child and the men who love her. This book doesn’t go into custody agreements, how old the little girls was when she met her now stepfather, or why her parents divorced because that’s not what this book is about. She compares and contrasts them, but in the end, the fact remains they both love her. One is her biological father, and the other is her stepfather. This round up of 27 books includes a wide spectrum of books about dads, so there is sure to be a book or two that is a great fits your family.ĭad and Pop: An Ode to Fathers and Stepfathers by Kelly Bennett is a simple but powerful book about a little girl with two dads. There are countless ways that dads connect and relate to their kids and Father’s Day lets us celebrate all those special ways. It was easier to nest the stickers before putting them on the egg. There is no one right way to be a dad. Nest the black and white circle stickers to create the (I don't know, is that a button?) on the poke ball. Look how perfectly they fit in the plastic Easter eggs! I got some delicious raspberry gummy candies, and tiny Pokemon toy figurines ( this is the brand I bought). The treats inside the Easter egg fit the Pokemon theme, too. ![]() I was really pleased with the coverage, the shine, and the durability of the paint on the plastic egg. Luckily, my backup plan of spray painting half of the white eggs worked magnificently. Even though all the eggs had the same alleged dimensions, I couldn't find both white and red eggs from the same manufacturer, and they were just different enough that it didn't work. I thought I could just mix and match the tops and bottoms of the eggs, and wouldn't have to mess with painting. I originally bought both white and red eggs. I don't even play Pokemon myself, but I love how these Poke ball Easter eggs turned out! Gotta find them all! Pokemon Easter Egg Tutorial Have a Pokemon fan in your house?
